Avyakt BapDada 25th October 1987

Today, BapDada is seeing all his elevated children who are seated on a lotus throne. The longer you sit on the lotus throne, the longer you will sit on the throne of the kingdom. The lotus throne is the symbol of a stage of being extremely loving yet extremely detached, like Brahma. So you Brahmins follow the Father. Such a soul will be extremely loved by Baba and the entire family.

Detachment means detachment from all four sides – firstly, from the body. Remain constantly detached from the body in the same way that the ordinary souls of the world, in their ignorance, are detached from the stage of soul consciousness. They don’t labour to be body conscious – it comes naturally. In the same way you should automatically be soul conscious. Like Brahma, while moving along, stay in the natural consciousness of being an angel, and in the consciousness of being a deity. Let there be a natural soul conscious stage constantly. Be detached from body consciousness.

Secondly, detachment from all relationships of the body, through your drishti, your attitude, and actions, in every way. Whilst seeing the relationships of the body there should naturally be the soul conscious stage. What did you celebrate after Deepawali? You celebrated the Brother’s Day. When you become a sparkling star, a glimmering eternal lamp, the relationship that remains, is that of brother. After belonging to the corporeal clan of Brahma you have the relationship of brother and sister, and as souls you have the relationship of brother.

Then there is detachment from perishable objects. If any object creates desires, then there is no detachment. It is easy to be detached from relationships, but still have an attraction to objects – the attraction remains in a royal form. A subtle form of desire is “I like this”. If at any time an instrument for temporary happiness is not attained, does the stage of being an easy yogi shake? All these objects, these instruments, are instruments to the physical elements. You are conquerors of the elements. You are the Brahmins who are seated on a lotus throne and detached from the elements. Together with conquering Maya, you also conquer the elements. Maya does not let you go easily, and neither do the elements. At present you have all instruments – there is nothing lacking – but while having these instruments and using them, the stage of yoga should not fluctuate. Be a yogi and make use of them – this is detachment. You should not use them with any desire, or because you like them. Where there is desire, no matter how much effort you make, it will not allow you to become good – at the time of the paper you will be labouring, trying to make spiritual effort, but the instrument will be attracting you towards itself, and you will be battling in trying to overcome that attraction. The papers of nature are going to come with even greater speed. So check the support of objects, of food, drink, clothing, walking, living, and that of coming into connection. Check now whether there is any aspect that becomes an obstacle even in a subtle way. A yogi is detached even while making use of things. Faith and intoxication make the soul victorious in all situations. When you are in the beautiful stage of being the embodiment of success, nothing can cause any distress. A lion may become like a cat in front of a hatha yogi, or a snake may become a toy, yet none of these things are big in front of you, the easy yogi souls. So, use what you have comfortably, but check that they don’t deceive you. No situation should bring your stage down. It is easy to be detached from relationships, but a great deal of attention is required to be detached from objects for the body.

The fourth thing is detachment from the old sankaras and nature. It is seen that the sanskaras and nature of this old body are very bitter – they creates huge obstacles to conquering Maya. If even a trace remains, the souls will be deceived again and again. The souls loses the power of realisation and does not consider wrong to be wrong. The soul speaks a thousand lies in order to prove one lie. To prove the self to be right is a sign of being under the influence of old sanskaras. It is one thing to clarify something for accuracy, but another to prove it by stubbornness. So check whether there are any old sanskara or nature left hidden away. Samja?

To be detached means to be detached from all things from all four directions. Such a soul is loved by Baba and loved by the family. So have you become the ones who sit on the lotus throne? This is what it means to follow the father. Father Brahma sat on the lotus throne and became the child who was number-one loved by Baba and loved by the Brahmins, in corporeal form as well as in subtle form. You have seen him through the eye of the intellect. You have experienced him through the divine eye. That is why every Brahmin says from the heart “my Brahma Baba”. Being detached from all four directions made him loved by the entire world.

To the children in all four directions, seated on the lotus throne, detached and loved by Baba, conquerors of Maya, the trustworthy children who always follow the father, loving remembrance and namaste from BapDada.
