An International Conference on “Human Survival” was held by the BKWSU in Vidhana Soudha in Bangalore in January, 1980 and conferences, on this or other similar themes were organised in Canada, Australia, Germany, U.S.A. and other countries setting the pattern for co-ordinated international service programmes. Large fairs were created in Allahabad, Haridwar and Ujjain during the years 1975-1980 and yoga shivirs or meditation camps also started during this period. The Industrial Peace Exhibition happened in 1980 in Ahmedabad targetting business.
During 1980-81, a special “Ten-Point Programme” and “World Welfare Festival” were organised in which individual at all service centres in countries outside India participated. The World Welfare Festival was held at Red Fort, Delhi in 1981and on this occasion about twelve thousand B.K.s came from all over the world to participate in a marathon Peace March. In 1981, Brahma Kumari Manmohini, the Additional Administrative Head toured many countries and participated in various events organised by local Raja Yoga centers. In the same year, there was a conference on “Origin of Peace” held by Brahma Kumaris at Kenyatta Hall, Nairobi, Kenya in which Dadi Prakashmani participated.
Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa-Vidyalaya became affiliated to the Department of Public Information of the United Nations as a Non-Governmental Organisation at the close of this period.
