Good morning BK poppers, and welcome to the BKcharts. Welcome to the "Enya" hour.

There are plenty of videos on youtube of Enya but some are homemade ones using her songs, so watch out. As usual any of Enya's songs can top the BK charts anytime.

Anyway, the following is a live one with an orchestra, imagine her had she been at JAM instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slTK_csA ... re=related
Enya wrote:Only Time

Who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows, only time?
And who can say if your love grows,
As your hearth chose, only time?

Who can say why your heart sights,
As your live flies, only time?
And who can say why your heart cries
when your love lies, only time?

Who can say when the roads meet,
That love might be ,in your heart?
and who can say when the day sleeps,
and the night keeps all your heart?
Night keeps all your heart ...

Who can say if your love groves,
As your heart chose, only time?
And who can say where the road goes
Where the day flows, only time?

Who knows? Only time
Who knows? Only time

But if you prefer something more recent and want to be the Lord of the Rings at the same time, well, play this instead http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hitAHKGq ... re=related
Enya wrote:May it be

May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home

Mornie utúlië (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantië (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

May it be the shadows call
Will fly away
May it be you journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun

Mornie utúlië (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantië (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

Well, that's all for now, Dj Bansy signing off, requests all welcome ... Joy Division perhaps.

The old man said to me
Said don't always take life so seriously
Play the flute
And dance and sing your song

Try and enjoy the here and now
The future will take care of itself somehow

The grass is never greener over there
Time will wear away the stone
Gets the hereditary bone

CHORUS:
Don't try to live your life in one day
Don't go speed your time away
Don't try to live your life in one day
Don't go speed your time away

The old man said to me
Said you cannot change the world single handedly
Raise a glass enjoy the scenery
Pretend the water is champagne
And fill my glass again and again
While the wolves are gathering round your door
Time will wear away the stone
Gets the hereditary bone

CHORUS

The old man said to me
Said don't always take life so seriously
Play the flute
And dance and sing your song

Try and enjoy the here and now
The future will take care of itself somehow
The grass is never greener over there
Time will wear away the stone
Gets the hereditary bone

I tried to live my life in one day
Don't go speed your time away

I bit off more than I can chew
Only so much you can do

Wolves are gathering round my door
Ask them in and invite some more

I tried to live my life in one day
Don't go speed your time away

Stranglers wrote:Stranglers - Get a Grip on Yourself

did not have the money round to buy a Morry Thou
Been around and seen a lot to shake me anyhow
Begged and borrowed sometimes I admit I even stole
The worse crime that I ever did was play some rock 'n roll.

But the money's no good
Just get a grip on yourself

But the money's no good
Just get a grip on yourself

Suffering convictions on a two-way stretch inside
The air in here is pretty thin, I think I'll go outside
Committed for insanity and crimes against the soul
The worst crime that I ever did was play some rock 'n roll.

But the money's no good
Just get a grip on yourself
But the money's no good
Just get a grip on yourself

And you should know

Now I find from week to week the sentence sticking fast
Turn the corner, rub my eyes and hope the world will last
Stranger from another planet welcome to our hole
Just strap on your guitar and we'll play some rock 'n roll

But the money's no good
Just get a grip on yourself
But the money's no good
Just get a grip on yourself

And you should know

Madness wrote:Madness - Embarassment

Received a letter just the other day,
Don't seem they wanna know you no more,
They've laid it down given you their score,
Within the first two lines it bluntly read.

You're not to come and see us no more,
Keep away from our door,
Don't come 'round here no more
What on earth did you do that for?

Our aunt, she don't wanna to know she says,
What will the neighbours think they'll think,
We don't that's what they'll think, we don't,
But I will, 'cause I know they think I don't.

Our uncle he don't wanna to know he says,
We are a disgrace to the human race he says,
How can you show your face,
When you're a disgrace to the human race?

No committment, you're an embarrassment,
Yes, an embarrassment, a living endorsement,
The intention that you have booked,
Was an intention that was overlooked.

They say, stay away,
Don't want you home today,
Keep away from our door,
Don't come 'round here no more.

Our dad, don't wanna to know he says,
This is a serious matter,
Too late to reconsider,
No one's gonna wanna know ya !

Our mum, she don't wanna to know, she says,
I am feelin' twice as old, she says,
Thought she had a head on her shoulder,
'Cause I am feelin' twice as older,
I am feelin' twice as older.

You're an embarrassment

To all the other posters especially in this thread, listen to the first 15 seconds of the introduction commentary to this video;Ottmar Liebert is a great "noveau flamenco" guitarist mixes elements of flamenco with jazz, bossa nova, Hindu meditation music, and other genres.

I used to work with a colleague who introduced me to moonlighting as a DJ (well, before the Gyani days). Those old albums and vinyls are still in the dusty closet but you never lose it, boys and girls, its in your heart and soul. Instead of waiting for others to tell you what to do, just do it better this time round. Atoms were created so that noise could be made. Silence and peace comes when you are in harmony with those atoms. Make that music sweet with rhythm, love, heart, and meaningful words.
    Good Better Best
    Never Let it Rest
    Do the Better Better
    Do the Better Best
So play music, play if for yourself, play it for God, play it with God. All music around the world is able to do this. Though there is no need to play it with anyone else really. Go forth. Though in my case, nowadays I tend to do more listening than playing ...

Re: Music

Om Shanti and thanks for providing that link. It is interesting to know that a private or non-BK site contains BK songs. But have these songs been uploaded on any of the BK sites for the BKs to select and play in any part of the world?

I wonder if the above site has obtained any written permission from the BKWSO to upload these songs to avoid copyright issues??? If the BKWSO has actually permitted the above site to upload its songs, then it is indeed a positive development. But if it is true, then why does BKWSU not do this on its own site???

Omshanti. I happened to browse through the official website of BKs recently and was surprised to see that they have uploaded a few (12 songs) out of many hundreds of songs avaialble under their control. Their site says that you can download those songs. But I have heard very few of these 12 songs while I was a BK.

http://www.brahmakumaris.com/songs.htm

I suppose they might have done so under compulsion after Sister Bansy provided a link to BK songs available on a non-BK site. Anyways, it is a good step and I hope that they would upload all the remaining songs also. But the actual song (Geet) that I and perhaps many others would be waiting to be uploaded is the true Gita (i.e. Murlis). May be when most of the Murlis are uploaded on this site that they will start thinking about uploading Murlis on their site.

Since this is a general topic, it would be better if it is shifted to the Commonroom for broader discussions.

Regards,
OGS,
Arjun
