According to karma Bharath must have invaded Islam and given sorrow to Islam, so Islam came back and give sorrow to Bharath. Why did Ravan give sorrow to Bharath? Bharath must have given sorrow Rama must have given sorrow to Ravana and according to karma Ravan give back sorrow to Rama
Why did black people become slaves to white men? Black people must have kept white men as a slave so karma is doing its job.
Why did white men colonize Africa Asia South America India? These countries and people must have colonized white and looted their wealth and treated them as a slave so karma bites back.
This is a very superficial understanding of the Law of Karma. Unfortunately most people in India, irrespective of whether they are BKs or non BKs, have only rudimentary level understanding of such concepts and therefore tend to trivialize such thought provoking concepts. It is this same thinking which makes some ignorant people, who think of themselves as spiritual, blame rape victims, cancer patients etc for their tragedies and suffering by blaming it all on their karma.
First, in order to understand this, we have to look at things from a 'micro level'. Once our understanding gets matured, only then we can think about collective karmic accounts of a set of people, be it religion, nation, race etc.
Firstly, not everything is revolving in a circle. There are new karmas and old karmas and they constantly change their equation, and the equilibrium is in a constant flux. If everything was a knee-jerk reaction of a previously done discrete action which happened at some time in the past, we would be just a set of
Newton's Cradle, not dissimilar to the infinite loop of a 5000 year old (
you can assign any random value here) cycle. What a sad little world that would be. What an utter waste of seemingly infinite existence staring us right in our faces!
To anyone whose outlook has been changed from a body centric to a consciousness centric one, these things are very easy to perceive. And to those whose haven't, these things will make little sense even if you give this kind of thinking an honest try. Look, we are a sum total of all the collective experiences we have had over the past. Everything has consciousness and that consciousness evolves right from subatomic particles to amoeba to the most intelligent human being and beyond that. We, as a consciouness, have undergone a tremendous amount of evolution and this is a constant and ever forward-moving process. There is no discrete action happening in a vacuum that you can separate, and apply cause and effect relationship so simply.
If I, as a human being, do an action like hurting someone, a lot of factors including my level of evolution, circumstances, the motive of that 'karma' etc will determine the effect it will have on my consciousness. The one thing that is certain is that it will have an impact on my consciousness like any other karma. This impact will modify my consciousness and I will 'attract'/manifest physical circumstances as a consequence of this which, inturn, will have further effect on it and it will evolve further an the journey goes on ...
