With the new 2008 BapDada season now in full swing, all prospective Brahma Kumari followers thinking of traveling to Madhub are being strictly warned to protect themselves again dangerous 'muggers' on Mount Abu, the famous Rajasthan retreat, by Mr Trevor Tank, a concerned local nature conservationist.
Ruthless 'muggers' have been discovered lurking in quiet places in Mount Abu for a number of years not, and preying on unsuspecting foreigners. Some have lost their lives, and many families have lost their loved ones. It has taken others years and years to recover from the losses they suffered at their hands.
Visitors are recommended to keep together in groups, not to go off on their own to strange places, above all avoid intoxication ... and to keep their wallets in their pockets, not signing any 'Last Will and Testaments' in favour of seemingly 'trust'-worthy strangers.
No one is sure how these ruthless, cold-blooded lizards found their way up to the top of Mount Abu or made their home there. However, their lifestyle has been thriving on the easy pickings from the many naive visitors who make their way up the hill each year. Many suspect the muggers were brought by a rich owner who, on discovering that they grew too much, were troublesome to handle, that he could no longer control them any more or perhaps simply by dying, let them loose into the wilds ... to survive in the only way they knew.
Generous conditions and a lack of any natural predators have meant that they have expanded greatly in numbers. Some of them growing to be h-u-g-e.
