Mira is the name of a very famous devotee. She was thought to be an incarnation of Radha, the consort of Lord Krishna. Her earthly life was full of troubles, yet she kept up her spirit by the strength of her devotion to Krishna, her soulful songs acting as a soothing balm to wounded hearts.
- So what was going on during that period when Miriam was sharing her single bed with another BK Sister? I cant remember her name but she looked quite young. Does anyone remember?
Now, from a wordly point of view, all this might be no big thing and a matter of privacy for the individuals concerned.
BUT ...
From a BK point of view, this is all very, very wrong. If an organization is promoting itself ... and politically and financially benefiting ... on the basis of its PR image as "pure" and requiring great discipline, and if a leadership is basing its spiritual authority over others lives on its ability to choose and appoint representitives ... what is going on ?!?
It now become a matter of public concern and should be discussed openly. Such behaviour would be a serious breach of ethics for a "spiritual leader" over one of their followers. If it is one rule for them and one rule for us ... then I think all the manipulation and lording it over others has to stop.
Does anyone know what happened to this other woman? I would be genuinely concerned for her well-being if it damaged her trust. Imagine if two Brothers did the same? (Oh, they have done and worse, I know, but that is a different matter).
- Do the Seniors know about it all, and allow it to go on, as long as things look OK and the money keeps coming in?
