Just a light reflection on recent claims to importance by BKWSU representative on the basis of how many followers they have. To the notorious BK Bharatwasi Boasters, bigger numbers is always better. Let's go Global ... Universal ... Unlimited!!!So, from a number of sources ...
Over half a million people throughout the world declare themselves to be "Jedi" on their census forms. The Jedis hold a religious reverence to "The Force" which is approached through meditation, civic service and learning. Jedis are characters from the fictional 'Star Wars' movies created by George Lucas ... an ancient monastic peacekeeping organization who use the "light side" of The Force and reject the "Dark Side". Their enemies, the Sith, are the Dark Side's adherents. The entirely fictional idea of Jedi values are now being interpreted in a modern philosophical path or religion.
In England and Wales 390,127 people (almost 0.8 percent) stated their religion was "Jedi Knight" on their 2001 Census forms surpassing Sikhism, Judaism and Buddhism ... and making it the fourth largest reported religion in the country. In 2001, 2.6 percent of the population of Brighton claimed to be Jedi. Their website is,
Jedi Church.org.
According to the Census, percentages of religious affiliations were:
• Christian: 72.0%
• No religion: 14.7%
• Chose not to respond: 7.8%
• Muslim: 3.1%
• Hindu: 1.1%
• Jedi: 0.79%
On November 16, 2006, the Jedis delivered a protest letter to UN officials in recognition of the "International Day for Tolerance". They requested that it be renamed the "UN Interstellar Day of Tolerance" and cited the 2001 Census.
No doubt the Brahma Kumaris, according to their belief in a single repeating Cycle of Time in which they are the heroes and all other religions worship "memorials" of them, believe that Star Wars and the "Jedi" are just such memorials of Brahma Kumaris from the last 5,000 year Cycle!
