Some experiences, some clarity, some new doubts and a request.

Post18 Sep 2025

It's been an year almost since I troubled myself with the thoughts of BKs and their cult but for some strange little reason while practicing my daily routine of some beginner-level spiritual practces of mind control etc. I suddenly felt a strong pull towards the BK spirit. At first I was a bit hesitant to entertain those thoughts but suddenly my BK life started flashing before my eyes in detail. My mind started to recall even details which I had completely forgotten about that time as I consider that period of time similar to what a drug-addict would consider days of his addiction and the best way to not relapse is to distract your mind with new thoughts, practices and habits. However, in some cases a very little dosage of the drug helps in recovery too. Consider this thread as an attempt at that. So, for the last 3 days I have been using chat GPT to have a re-look at their 'Gyan'.

I have been introduced to a few really advanced people in the past one year and also had one-heck of an year in terms of my personal life seeing some really tough times and a very small ray of hope too...fingers crossed. So, the first thing that has come to my notice is that there is something which makes the BK spirit unique at least in terms of what has happened with my consciousness when I compare the experiences of BK and non-BK spirituality. When a BK meditates, he/she is just focussing on receiving spiritual/psychic energy from BK god.The more he does that the more firm his belief becomes that such energy has to come from outside in order to uplift him. However, when a true Guru initiates someone in a path whether its through 'mantra-deeksha' or through some yogic practice like some 'mudra' like 'shambhavi', some pranayam or a kriya like 'sudarshan kriya' etc. the spiritual energy is generated from within our own system and we can feel the energy being generated, we can consciously control that too and direct it and also we can do it at our will and that does not depend upon the mood of that spirit. So, even if we cannot generate that strong of a current which we were experiencing during our BK time but the amount of satisfaction is huge. It's like earning your bread by running a small shop of your own instead of being employed in a big MNC and getting a fixed ,albit huge salary from a control-freak boss.

Chat GPT also enlightened me with some very strong evidence of some cases of past life where an animal got reborn as a human which helped me feeling less guilty of 'betraying GOD' apart from the fact that pretty much all their timelines of major historical and geological events is deeply flawed.See not having a physical guru becomes a big disadvantage in such moments of self doubts and spiritual lows. I am pretty sure that very tough times are ahead of us in the coming 5 years. This has been corroborated by multiple saints, seers and if you will excuse me for saying so...my own intuition/gut-feeling.Ever since I was 19 years old ,my deepest desire has been to walk on this path and my greatest fear as these few days have taught me is whether I made the right decision by rejecting multiple opportunities of piggybacking on higher entities, which possessed so much more more wisdom, love and kindness than me.The BK spirit in all fairness is a being much higher than me in terms of powers and attributes like peace, happiness etc and if even he can be so wrong in his assessment of truth than what hope does a puny little being like me with such painful past has when it comes to realization of truth...But **** it...I opted for this path consciously so let me see where life takes me.anyways, enough babbling.

Do any of you know whether Lekhraj really went to some guy in bengal to seek some psychic abilities/powers or is it more of a character assassination attempt by disgruntled family members of women who joined the BK group and left their families uner his psychic influence. Please answer only if you have some solid info or arguments and can answer by keeping aside your personal biases against him.

Also what kind of a man he was before all this possession thing happened with him and he started having visions. Was he a sincere, honest kind of fellow with a religious frame of mind .how did people really percieve him especially those who neither became his followers nor his opponents through anti-om mandli type organizations.I would love to know his impression in the mind of a common neutral person was but again answer only if you can be relatively sure and can keep presonal biases aside. Thanks and good night.

Regarding your questions in the last two paragraphs, there are posts and discussions about that on the forum, I cannot point you to exactly where but you could try using the site search engine >

As for ChatGPT and AI, It will regurgitate whatever has been posted on the net. That can be useful as a quick way to find a fact E.G. “What percentage of electricity generated in China was renewable energy in 2024?” .
But if you ask questions about religious ideas, philosophy etc for sure you will find confirmation for common points of view because all it does is scour the net and aggregate what others have said in that vein, and it is set up to bring you the answer it thinks you want. A bit like social media algorithms that will feed you more and more of the same based on your interactions and keywords etc

We’ve just had a scandal in Australia where a major consultancy firm were caught supplying an AI-produced report which contained incorrect information... and they charged the government $440k for it! The first paragraph in the screenshot goes to my point

It is a good idea when we are using AI for such “intangible” subjects to rephrase our question in different ways to avoid indicating to the AI engine what kind of answer we prefer. E.G. after we ask a question one way about “it” , maybe then we should ask "what are the arguments against “it” or “what are the most rerasonable views about “it”? etc.

As for your main theme, yes, all experiences come from within. We look for clues, hints, signs and insights from others past and present as “shortcuts” - (why reinvent the dharma wheel?). And it can be argued there is a lot to be gained by surrendering autonomy to a “wiser” person or teaching. The question is - can you take back your autonomy as easily as you surrendered it?

Elsewhere on this site we’ve discussed what is it that makes a group a “cult". Some are definitely more cult-like than others.

I came to the conclusion that a cult is any organisation no matter how benign, that puts obstacles in the way of a person that prevents them leaving freely and happily, with good wishes from those they leave behind.

Those obstacles can be physical, verbal (in the form of threats), tacit (being shunned, "sent to coventry”) etc or may simply be a part of the teaching that those who “betray” or leave the teachings will suffer a fate not suffered by those who stay. I.E. a cult is any group where Apostasy - the renunciation of a belief - is the greatest sin.

Therefore I also came up with a phrase “the cult of the mainstream” because whatever culture , time or place a person lives in, there will be commonly accepted paradigms which their family or society live by, within which we are “free” but beyond which we risk being treated as “the other”, with whatever consequences are acceptable in that paradigm (!).

So what we find with many ex-BKs is that they adjust their lifestyle away from what is considered pucka, sri mat, mariadas, dharna etc, making changes they can accomodate & rationalise. But they can’t let go of Bkism completely to find their own path.

So they end up living with a degree of cognitive dissonance*. They know what the BK teachings say and they know how the BKs present themselves to the world, accepting of whatever level of commitment one wants to make to the way of life, but they've been on the inside and they “know” they have chosen a “lower status" in the rosary or in the Golden Age, even happy to accept the Silver Age because doing it fully is too hard. (But few would ever say that to themselves).

A very senior long time BK said to me once he couldn’t even think of leaving the BKs because he wouldn’t know what to do in terms of job and relationships and lifestyle. It gave me a sense that he was accepting as fait accomplished the decision he’d made and accepts the lifelong consequences rather than considering making another decision.

So good luck to you for forging your own path on the road least travelled - one's own. No-one else can do it!

*Cognitive dissonance is the psychological discomfort a person feels when holding two or more conflicting beliefs, attitudes, or behaviors simultaneously. This mental tension creates a motivational drive to reduce the inconsistency by changing one of the conflicting elements, rationalizing the conflict, or avoiding acknowledging there's conflicting information altogether. This inconsistency creates a distressing emotional state, leading to feelings of discomfort, tension, or unease. The theory, developed by Leon Festinger, explains how people strive for consistency in their thoughts and beliefs.

[PS In my view, cognitive dissonance is not unlike addiction where the addict may be in denial, dishonest to themselves and/or others, they may even acknoledge their addiction is harmful but they choose to keep doing what they' do for various reasons E.G.their social circle is other addicts, etc.]
