Some may think that all of the opinions expressed on XBKchat are negative. Not so. From what I have seen, the views expressed on this site are critical - but not unbalanced or malicious. I have therefore decided to open up this topic so that XBKs, and other members, can say how - in spite of the negative aspects - they have benefited from the raj yoga experience.
I will return to say how I too benefited from it. Now, over to you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S. The word "benefit" is exceptional in this sense: the consonant "t" at the end is not doubled when adding "ed" to the word. See this link:

Paul,
I am glad that you have opened this topic and indicated some qualifiers. For sure, and it is based on the practical experiences of many, the benefits of Ry do not end when a soul stops going to the center. They continue and are lifelong, even beyond this current incarnation. The benefits to me have been long term, sustained, and part of all phases of my life. As a scientist and veterinarian in particular and an individual in general, the benefits have been second to none.
As a result I am inspired to perform acts of intellectual and spiritual charity. I have taught chemistry to disadvantaged high school students in the inner city segments of NYC. The students, in addition to learning to think critically and improve themselves academically, appreciate my efforts to share the wisdom of life and living. Some students were teenage mothers. Many had parents who were drug addicts. The role models for many of the students have been drug dealers and gang leaders. Some never had any contacts with a black scientist. I have looked at my activities as an educator as a way of expressing my appreciation for all the good society has done for me, including the benefits of Raj Yog. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Om Shanti,

I have benefited by:
- gaining a closer relationship with God
- can better understand myself as a soul first
- can see the good in other people amidst the negative
- I look for the good in everything around me and my experiences
- I have a better understanding of life and my place in it |

It wasn’t a big thing but a very small thing happened. To know and feel happy, free, full and secure. To doubt and be sure it’s the same one. |

SB is called THE WORLD BENEFACTOR.
The gains from a relationship with HIM in Sangam Yuga, for xBKs or BKs, will be awesome! _________________ Om Shanti,

I think there's more to the world than xbks and bk's ... isn't the world a small place
For me, the biggest benefit is wisdom. |

Om sahnti Kevin!
Yes, the whole world is our family not just bk's etc.
I do not wish to think that it is not because then the Ego kicks in.

I have to agree with Kevin.
It is a small world and Raj yogis are not the only folks on the world stage. Though we must interact with others, we should not accept the garbage from within and the outside.
Sometimes garbage can be coated with a thin layer of shrimath paint and presented as Godly gyan.
We must however, practice the following:
"It is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness." If there are those who are afraid of the candle and want to extinguish it, it is the duty of the owner of the candle to be the keeper of the flame and protect the candle. ![Laughing](images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) _________________ Om Shanti,
