I don't understand this at all.
I've read some posts by XBKs saying they were banned. Am I understanding this correctly?

John,

Discussions are good and differing opinions even better. That said if you look in the main page you will find the answers in the mission statement if I am not mistaken. In the US you can say virtually anything, provided it is framed as an OPINION and one is protected under the law. I don't know where this site originates; I imagine in the UK there are similar laws.

More importantly I think it has a little to do with decorum and comportment. I don't think the site has limited the level of discussion but rather made us aware that it is not necessary to put in unnecessary words to make our point. Less is more and discreetness equals sophistication.

As you probably know I am the toddler of the group always asking questions (upon answering that question I ask another) not knowing many aspects of the religious philosophical angles here. I suppose some would have worn worry, tired and perhaps even called me a nit wit for not knowing, but they haven't and they help me along in my learning. Seeing how members help me, now my husband is even helping me figure out some of the posts....this I believe is due to the fact that this community is willing to help others along the path of discovery and find peace within themselves.

I also think inappropriateness would probably defeat the point of the ongoing exchange of ideas and would make views expressed here less powerful if it was dropped down a notch.

I love reading all the posts that are so well written and discovering the hidden part of my loved one that remained a secret for far too long. The power of the organization is that families don't know. Thus, we remain lost not being able to understand, reaching out and finding the divide wider.

I thought I would answer you having had some experience in this department. I found it humbling, introspective and I now laugh about it. I don't think the Admin person is sitting there waiting to censure our posts.

Today, when the site was down I felt like a kid again, that feeling of having lost my tricycle crept in....I am glad to see that the Admin person is well and that the site is alive again with the energy of the XBK community clicking away.

John perhaps you could say which posts you are referring to. Do you mean banned from BKWSU? It seems from this forum that a BK would be invited not to come back to the BK centre if he used words like 'brainwashing' or mentioned anything about PBK.

Hi Tete, I'm really not sure what point you are trying to make

Yes I mean from BKWSU

Is this something we shouldn't talk about?

I have known of people being 'banned' from morning class, because of disruptive behaviour eg vehement and persistent arguing, or strange behaviour through mental illness. But not banned from the centre completely.

Drunk people are shown the door.....

One time in Madhuban a german brother kept getting on the stage and ranting madly and generally disrupting things. Brothers would usher or manhandle him off the stage, and he would get back up again later. After several days of this he was taken to Global Hospital, and sedated... I have seen other similar things in Madhuban.

Generally it was my experience that people were tolerated to a very reasonable extent.

Does Hanuman not claimed to have been asked to leave?

I suspect that people saying they were 'banned' have just been advised to stay away, and have taken the advice.

Or is there a black list... Wink

Thanks Howiemac

For some reason the thought of the german brother ranting on stage tickled me.

Well yes things like drunkardness etc are understandable. I was more interested in cases of disagreements over ideas. I think I was getting the picture of 'think/speak/do as we say or get out'. That was surprising me.

Dear John,

Like I said I am a toddler here. You are talking about the BK organization; I thought you were referring to something else. My apologies, I will look at the little dictionary a bit closer before posting a reply.

I have had the opposite experience in that they seem to like my beloved a little too much, over the years it didn’t bother me until last year. Sad

Actually, after my last trip to Mt Abu, I have been comparing the situation in the foreign countries to what it is like in India.
In India, Indians practice adopting and adjusting to the ways of others. This attitude can also be seen in the attitudes of the Bharathwasi BKs. In many of the foreign countries, a lot of emphasis is given to law and order. This attitude can also be seen in the attitudes of many of the double foreign BKs who live outside India.

Further, the BK headquarters of the double foreign lands is in England where the people of royal blood and rich people put on a show of being polished and accurate. This polished English attitude can be seen among the double foreign BKs. Thus, in foreign countries (outside India) BKs sometimes say that too much emphasis is being given to putting on a show of being virtuous. One would not see Bharathwasi BKs putting on a show of being virtuous and of being an effort maker.
It has to be remembered that BKs are trying to behave like royalty. Actually, they should be more concerned about spiritual royalty which is an internal experience. When one experiences spiritual royalty, this is reflected in one's conduct.

It is my view that if the double foreign BKs learnt how to adopt and adjust themselves more, there would not even be a single soul who would get banned from the Brahma Kumaris. In developed countries and developing countries too much emphasis is being paid to "control" over people so as to prevent bad conduct etc. This attitude is reflected in the attitudes of some of the double foreign BKs. Thus, people are getting banned from the Brahma Kumaris.

I seem to remember a very good saying, (from the Bible I think)
which has strong karmic implications. We had all better watch out Laughing

well said John - 20 years on (three visits 2001, 2003, 2004) my experience of 'double foreign' brothers (and including Europeans!) was like yours (and some of the sisters too.. Wink ).

Brothers and Sisters,

Yes indeed! I WAS BANISHED FROM BKSU.

I will not go into the details, unless I am asked to do so.

False accusations were made against me by BKs serving in Guyana who were not Guyanese.

The reasons why I do not want to make it an issue are as follows:

THOUGH I WAS BANISHED BY BKSU, GOD ALMIGHTY WITH HIS INFINITE LOVE AND GRACE HAS HELD MY HANDS AND GUIDED ME IN WAYS I NEVER EXPERIENCED IN A CENTER.

I HAVE LEARNED NEVER EVER TO REGARD MY EXPERIENCE AS BANISHMENT.

WHEN I FIRST VISITED MADHUBAN CLOSE TO 29 YEARS AGO, BD TOLD ME PERSONALLY THAT ONE DAY I WILL LEAVE THE PANDAV GOVERNMENT AND BECOME PRIME MINISTER OF ANOTHER GOVERNMENT.
I DO NOT WANT TO CALL THAT GOVERNMENT MY OWN. SINCE I DEPARTED FROM THE PANDAV GOVERNMENT AS AN MP, ONE OF MY EFFORTS HAS BEEN FOCUSED IN ESTABLISHING ANOTHER SYSTEM CONSISTENT WITH GYAN, WITH MAJOR AND MINOR DIFFERENCES.

THE ACT OF BANISHMENT OPENED MY THIRD EYES WIDER AND CLEARED THEM OF MANY FOGGY IDEAS I HAD OF THE BKs.
IN MY KINGDOM WHICH IS PART OF MY FATHER'S MANSION, I WILL REMEMBER THOSE BKs WHO KNEW MY PAST IDENTITIES AND ASSISTED IN MY ALOKIK AND LOKIK ADVANCEMENT.

Yes my sisters and brothers, I was banished. However, I am much more than the BK title, a badge or badges, lilly white kortha and pajamas and meeting BD ONCE A YEAR. Those I do not have nor do I care for. Without them the will of my ALOKIK FATHER shall be done. Cool Laughing

Maybe, I was wrong in the way I had given my opinions in my above post. Well, it definitely is Bharathwasi BKs who are heading the centers of double foreign lands. It was obvious to me that the Bharathwasi BK who was in charge of the Australasian region was quite devilish in the way she was doing things.
