Hi Paul,
Thanks for that bit if information. I will show it to my grandson who doesn't like writing because, maybe because he thinks his spelling is not very good.
It's a great lesson in not thinking everything has to be 'right', also a lesson in realising how the world teaches us to focus on what is 'wrong'. How much we miss by the one lens focus.
Actually thinking about it,it also shows us the importance of the big picture. If that's in our vision the details fall into place.

Paul, you are so right to post this here given that I understand that BK's discourage reading and especially writing to ones family. Both of my girls attended an alternative school where learning was the primary goal through writing. Spelling, well that was secondary as children work on that naturally when they are older without the spelling hindrance stopping the flow of ideas.
Writing also encourages reading and communication. Having a little author read what he/she has written is a true pleasure. Having them read what they wrote when they are older is a hoot and brings happy laughter and amazement that they were so organized in their thinking.
